Coit Tower TeleGraph Hill (San Francisco) Food and Events and Travel Destinations

  •  There's a Levi office here, located in a beautiful red-brick look Levi's Plaza.
  • Parking is available at Public Garage for Levi's Plaza. It is pricy, but there's early bird for weekdays, Saturday discount with Exploratorium validation. Sunday it is closed. It's a short walk to Coit Tower (up till) and a very short walk to Levi's Plaza. Personally, as a local, I would park in the garage, so your car windows wouldn't get broken during street parking.
  • Co-working space : SPACE located across the street from Levi's Plaza. Away from Coit Tower, closer to the bay and piers.
  • Off the Grid (food truck) Early August 2022 schedule Tue | Wed | Thu 11am - 2pm. There were 3 trucks.

Tuile (cooking technique)

Tuile is the wafer thin, crunchy decoration that you see on food. Tastes great.

"A tuile IPA (key): /twiːl/ is a baked wafer, French in origin, generally arced in shape, that is made most often from dough (but also possibly from cheese), often served as an accompaniment of other dishes.[1] Tuile is the French word for tile, after the shape of roof tiles that the arced baked good most often resembles.[2] Tuiles are commonly added as garnishes to desserts such as panna cotta or used as edible cups for sorbet or ice cream.[3]"

Star Anise

Star anise is a spice used in Chinese cuisine. You can find ample star anise in Sichuan hot pot. It is also recently trending as a garnish in artisan cocktails. Did you know Italy also uses star anise? It is not just an Asian spice.

"Cremas (Kremas or Cremasse) is a popular drink in Haiti and is served regularly at social events and during the holidays. " https://haitiancooking.com/recipe/cremas-kremas-or-cremasse/

Star anise with Carnation caramel cocktail makes a spiced Vodka cocktail.

"Star anise is the major source of the chemical compound shikimic acid, a primary precursor in the pharmaceutical synthesis of the antiinfluenza drug oseltamivir (Tamiflu)" - wikipedia. That's pretty insane surprising trivia.

Fancy Instant Coffee and Drinks

Instant Coffee

Copper cow Vietnamese coffee the coffee is very Smokey and dense quite like what you would expect in Vietnamese coffee

Doorman coffee Kenya. It may be shocking to know that Kenya exports so much coffee, and Kenyans don't get to enjoy the fruits of their own labor. The coffee offerings within the nation aren't as glam as it is outside. But people find solace in the intense, easy and nostalgic Doorman instant coffee. It's simple, coarse, does the job with a bit less caffeine, and can be found in hotels. Offers a fragrant aromatic.

Origami Starbucks Coffee in Japan. In Japan, even the Starbucks instant coffee is fancy. The origami set (origami is Japanese paper folding art) comes with a paper drip that unfolds and holds Starbucks coffee for "instant" drip. Chili Crab Recipe

Variations of chili crab recipe in South East Asia. What’s fascinating is that Singapore, Vietnam and Kenya (remember the cave?) all have versions of chili crab. To my greatest delight, they make use of the Tamarind in all three locations. One of my favorite unique ingredient that is in some parts of Asia as well as Africa! I tasted Tamarind in a neighbor’s house. It has capturing flavors that I thought deeply about.

  • Singapore chili crab, mild, not too spicy
    • This chef explains Singapore chili crab so well. Though not ideal, it is possible to make it without the shrimp paste. https://youtu.be/l2ToW0IDG1U He explains the melting pot of Singapore food scene so well. The recipe end up a bit on the spicy side.

Is sourdough more nutritious than white bread, or the regular baguette?

Can bread be nutritious? Can bread be healthy?

It is not necessarily so.

White bread has been associated with gluten and carbs, but can bread be healthy and nutritious? What about sourdough bread, sourdough baguette, is that healthy? Zen matter foodie

Researchers founder that breads affect people differently, but there’s no significant difference between the two bread no the same person, including affect on gut bacteria.

Red boat fish sauce: Christina Ha, the self-made blind chef who won masterchef recommends this generic yet super useful all purpose fish sauce.

Sweet gyoza sauce : not every black, dark Japanese sauce is soy sauce, every Japanese sauce has subtle umami and difference, check out the generic sweet gyoza sauce, can be found in Nijiya, it is great for many usage, including panseared gyoza
